Following a competitive bidding process, Homes England has announced its new cohort of strategic partners for the Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26, including one of the largest housing providers in southern England, Abri.
As a strategic partner, Abri will benefit from the certainty of affordable homes grant funding for the duration of the government’s Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26, with greater flexibility to deliver, as well as access to Homes England’s broader expertise, insight and experience. This will benefit current and future generations by increasing the supply of much needed new homes across the south of England. Abri’s Group Chief Executive, Gary Orr, said:
“We’re excited about the impact we can make working both as a strategic partner with Homes England but also in our role as lead partner of Wayfarer. Together we can really make a difference to meet the housing demand for affordable homes across the south of England.”
During their tenure as a Homes England strategic partner, Abri will work in partnership to deliver new affordable homes, support small and medium sized enterprises and invest in communities, including rural areas.
“As a strategic partner we’ll build on our relationship with Homes England and Local Authority partners to create thriving communities built on the foundations of quality and sustainability. We know that collaboration is essential in delivering the homes people need and as lead partner of Wayfarer we’ll continue to work with its members to make a meaningful impact together.” – Stephen Lodge, Executive Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management at Abri
Tackling climate change and sustainability is a priority for Abri, who have committed to delivering 25% of new homes via Modern Methods of Construction and have just launched the Greener Futures Partnership.
