We love getting to know and supporting our customers. One way we do this in Bordon is through our weekly Employment and Opportunities Hub. It’s a chance for customers to meet their local Abri team, to get support, advice, and have a general catch up. We chatted with a number of customers about employment support and support around cost of living too.
The sessions are held in our community space, The Room, in our Café 1759, every Wednesday, 10am-12pm. We run the hub with support from The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and East Hampshire District Council.
The team in the Bordon area are:
- Miranda Badger, Employment Support Advisor
- Susi Drummond, Community Development Officer
- Luke Bowers, Tenancy Sustainment Officer
- Anna Giles, Tenancy Sustainment Officer
- Anna Rudziak, Tenancy Sustainment Officer
- Chrissie Blomley, Income Officer
You can also book an appointment in advance with the team if you’ve specific questions on tenancy sustainment and income support.
What do we do at the hub?
We can help with CVs, cover letters, applications, and job searching (you can use one of our tablets too). No need to book. And we offer you a free hot drink and biscuit.
Throughout the year we also off free sessions to meet local employers and complete training.
Not to forget, you can chat to Susi about our community projects, such as:
- Café 1759, our not-for-profit, community-led café supported by volunteers. It offers not only delicious food and drink, but supports the community in whatever way it can
- Good Grub Club, a free holiday food programme
- Community Pantry
- Community Action Days, a chance to spend find out how we can support with maintenance, housing, employment and the cost of living
- And much more!
Come and chat to us at the hub in The Room in Café 1759, Chieftain Place, Challenger Road, Bordon, GU35 0FP.
