Abri, one of the south’s largest housing providers, has exchanged contracts with Taylor Wimpey to provide 50 affordable homes at the Wool Gardens development in Crewkerne, Somerset.
The new homes are part of a larger development of 635 new homes being built by Taylor Wimpey at Wool Gardens. The 50 new affordable homes will all be available for social rent and will include a combination of one, two and three-bedroom houses, with the first of the affordable homes due for completion by November 2023.
Sam Stone, Associate Director of Land and Planning at Abri said: “It’s great to be working with Taylor Wimpey to be able to respond to the local housing need for affordable homes. This high-quality development reflects Abri’s commitment to provide safe, warm and affordable housing. Our priority is to support our customers and communities through the cost of living crisis and affordable homes help provide greater stability.
“In addition to this section 106 agreement we’re looking to deliver more homes whether that’s land led, regeneration, joint ventures or through our own inhouse construction team. As we continue to work with partners across the south we can help local communities with homes where they’re needed most.”
