A new development of 58 homes is being proposed for Beaminster, Dorset to include a mix of tenures including affordable and open market sale homes.
We've secured the land in Beaminster and will be applying for detailed planning permission to develop the 58 homes. The outline permission was sought by Gladman Developments Ltd, a strategic land promoter. Once detailed planning permission is granted, Abri will work with local Dorset company Acheson Construction to help build the homes.
Louise Lote, Senior Land and New Business Manager at Abri said: “The proposals provide a mix of houses to support the community and bring more affordable homes to the area. With this land led scheme we’re making a proportion of the homes for open market sale which means we can reinvest any profits back into the business to build more affordable homes.
“Abri is committed to help provide more opportunities for home ownership with a target of building at least 1,500 new homes a year by 2030. Working with our partners and Dorset Council we hope these new homes will add to the community and provide more local employment opportunities.”
Clare Goodchild, Senior Land Director at Gladman said: “Gladman have really enjoyed working with Abri on this project and we look forward to seeing the site being developed.”
We're also helping to provide another 35 affordable homes at the adjacent site with Cavanna Homes. The proposed homes in Beaminster are of part of Abri’s commitment to provide more homes in Dorset with current developments including 21 affordable homes in Hazelbury Bryan. Another 15 affordable homes are under construction in Drimpton, with Abri working with Broadwindsor Group Parish Community Land Trust to develop homes specifically for people with a local connection.
