A new development of 115 homes, including at least 109 affordable homes is planned for Botley.
Abri, one of the south’s largest housing providers, has acquired land at Sherecroft Farm from local award winning developer Highwood Group. Construction of the new homes is expected to start from early 2023 and the building work will be undertaken by Abri’s own inhouse construction team. The provision of at least 109 affordable homes planned for the site significantly exceeds policy requirements for new developments and includes 42 homes for affordable rent and 67 available to buy through shared ownership.
Jon Tulloch, Land Manager at Abri said: “We’re pleased to be able to bring much needed affordable homes to the area to help support the local community. With the high demand for low-cost and high-quality housing nationally it’s especially important to be able to deliver homes at such a scale and make so many of them affordable.
“By utilising our inhouse construction team for these homes we’ll have full control of the quality to make sure they’re built to the highest standards for the community.”
Phil Prosser, Business Development Director at Highwood added: “We have been working with Abri for just over 12 months to ensure this scheme comes forward and we’re really pleased that we have finally managed to transact, and much needed affordable family housing will be brought forward in this fantastic location.”
The new development has received grant funding from Homes England to help build the homes which are expected to be completed by winter 2026.
