What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a real job that allows you to combine practical training with on- the- job experience, all whilst earning a salary!
Depending on the qualification, they usually last between one and four years. Apprenticeships are a great way to progress and develop in your current career, jump into the world of work after leaving education, or help you make a career change.
The majority of your time (around 80%) will be spent alongside experienced colleagues. You’ll learn in the workplace under the guidance of one our brilliant mentors and put your skills into practice. The remaining 20% of your working hours are set aside for training and study related to your role. This usually takes place at a college or with a training provider. It may also include completing tasks that are not related to your day-to-day responsibilities; for example, shadowing a colleague, joining a webinar or attending a monthly coaching session.
Just like other employees, you’ll have the same entitlements such as pay, holiday and pension contributions, as well as whole host of extra benefits! And if you’re an existing colleague, your salary won’t be affected if your apprenticeship is helping you to develop in your role.
Who can do an apprenticeship?
It’s a myth that apprenticeships are only for school leavers starting out in their careers. Apprenticeships are for everyone aged 18 and over. And we’re keen to hear from applicants of all ages, backgrounds and experience.
Who are we looking for?
The great thing about an apprenticeship is that it’s an opportunity to gain skills and experience as you learn. That means we’re less concerned about your experience, or what you studied at school, but instead looking for the passion and qualities that you can bring to the role.
We’ve all got different backgrounds, strengths and experiences. But we share the same values. It’s these shared values that bring us together as one team. Simple really. You can read more about them here.
If you share our values and want to make a real difference in the world, you’re on to a winner.
